Free Homecoming Parade Dance!

Would you like to be in the UI Homecoming Parade? You CAN!
Be Brave! Be Bold! Join Us!
Join us to perform a dance to the hit pop song, "Starships" in the University of Idaho Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 6, at 10:00 am.
We want YOU to dance with us! Bring the WHOLE family! Bring your friends! We love to dance and give people the opportunity to dance!

There will be a rehearsal to prepare for the parade on Thursday, October 4, from 3:30-4:15 pm.  Meet in Studio 212 in the UI PE Building.  Festival Dance faculty member, Karissa Jacobs, will lead the rehearsal of a dance to "Starships."  It's an easy and energetic, cool dance anyone can perform and enjoy.

All you have to do is call us at 208-883-DANS (3267) or email us at katie@festivaldance.org to sign up.  This is a great opportunity to get out in the community and dance!  It is completely free, open to the public, and totally fun.

Festival Dance Academy Now Accepting Registration


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 

MOSCOW- Festival Dance Academy classes begin the week of September 4th

Registration is now being accepted for all of the Festival Dance Academies for ages four through adult.  Courses include Kinderdance for ages four through five, pre-ballet for age six, ballet, jazz/hip hop, tap,  and Celtic step dance for ages seven and up.  Classes are held in Moscow, Troy, Genesee, and Lapwai.


Festival Dance Academy registration information is available online at www.festivaldance.org or by calling (208) 883-3267.  Classes begin the week of September 4th and registration is accepted through the month of September. Rates are as low as $35 per month for one course.


“It is important to us to go into rural communities to teach dance there,” says Cindy Barnhart, Executive Director. “Also, we are excited that we will be able to continue free dance classes in Lapwai because of a grant from the Nez Perce Education Fund.”


Special performance opportunities for this year include: Select ballet classes will get to perform in “Joy to the World” at the Administration Auditorium, December 1 at 7:00.  Other dancers will perform in a Holiday Open House in December. The Celtic dancers will perform with An Dochas and the Haran Irish Dancers at the Beasley April 7 at 3:00, and all students will perform at the free Spring Dance Concert at the UI Hartung Theatre in May.

Festival Dance Academy is the official dance school of Festival Dance and Performing Arts, and the resident dance academy at the University of Idaho offering classes in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, Irish, acting for dancers, and yoga.  A non-profit organization that supports cultural diversity, performing arts, arts education, and dance programs for youth, Festival Dance & Performing Arts has been achieving their mission of “Bringing the Arts to the People and the People to the Arts” since 1972.
