Aspen Santa Fe Ballet

Look at this picture. Really look at it. Look at the arch of her back reflecting the arch of her foot. Look at his low, controlled position. Amazing isn't it? And this is just a picture! The show this Sunday promises to amaze you - and enlighten you.

Audiences world wide have been charmed with Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and its fresh, dynamic blend of contemporary dance. The Joyce Theatre in New York City, theKennedy Center, and foreign venues in Canada, France, and Italy have been host to this vibrant company. The performance will include “Sue’s Leg,” by Twyla Tharp, one of America’s most versatile and popular choreographers whose works range from pieces set for Joffrey Ballet and American Ballet Theatre to the dances for the movie, “Hair.” “Sue's Leg,” with music by Fats Waller, takes balletic moves and hides them under vaudeville, tap, and swing. Also on the program is the crowd-pleasing, opticalillusionist piece “Noir Blanc,” by Moses Pendleton of Momix and Pilobolus fame, amazing audiences with an other-worldly quality of dancers cavorting in outer space.
I'll see you there!
